Dining in the Red Lion Inn is a real treat. The restaurant retains many of the Coaching
Inn's original features including the old oak beams and this together with the candle lit
tables, provides a wonderful and intimate atmosphere.
Our menus change daily and are prepared using the finest local ingredients, according to the
season. Succulent hill lamb and beef, locally caught salmon and the freshest of vegetables.
We also provide a good variety of vegetarian dishes. To whet your appetite we have a provided
just a flavour of the quality and variety of dishes available.
The oak paneling and traditional fireplace in the bar have remained unchanged since the 18th century. This is a lovely room and you can really get a sense of the prominent role the Inn played in this important market town all those centuries ago.
Excellent home made lunches are served at the bar, and there is plenty of information available
for you to plan your visits to the many local visitor attractions which can be found in the
area.
